About tree species
At aru, aiming for sustainable products, we use the highest quality hardwood and vegetable oil with less environmental impact.
We value the unique scenery created by the one and only natural wood grain and colors.
The texture deepens as you use it like vintage furniture, and you can enjoy patina of complex textures and color changes due to small scratches over the years.
・ Please note that we cannot return & exchange the product due to differences in customer preferences such as grain and color.
・ If you want a more natural texture, roughness, or painting by yourself, you can purchase it without oil finishing.
・ Please use it with regularly maintenance, in a place where there is an eaves outdoors and it is not exposed to rain or direct sunlight.
Without oil finishing
- Black stain / TETSU-BAISEN
It is a plant dyeing method that develops deep black by reacting tannin contained in wood with iron. The texture that glows black like a beam smoked by the smoke in the hearth of an old folk house is attractive. It is also used for Oshima Tsumugi of Japanese prestigious KIMONO.
- Japanese indigo AISOME
・The top coat is oil-finished to improve water repellency, but when used outdoors, it will fade in the rain or direct sunlight.
・Black stain is MTO : take 3 weeks to dyeing-finish.
